This page is being developed as a way for me to share my general thoughts, comments, opinions and observations regarding the scoping profession and relationships between reporters and scopists. This will not be an open blog where others can post, but please feel free to e-mail me any of your own ideas and concerns regarding our profession. I will take all into consideration and bring thoughtful ideas and questions forward for all to read and think about. This is an open invitation to scopists and reporters alike. I lurk in several forums, but actively participate in very few. It is of great interest to me to be able to see how others solve problems and interact with each other. Here will be the first topic, and I would love input from both scopists and reporters: Reporters - What are the basics you expect when receiving a scoped transcript? Scopists - What do you feel your job is when scoping a transcript for a reporter?
These may seem to be silly questions, but I am finding there is sometimes a bit of disconnect between what reporters expect specifically and what scopist believe they should provide. I will be sharing my own ideas very soon. |
